SAT is seeking expressions of interest to fill 6 Ordinary full time Member positions commencing on 1 January 2020 for a period of appointment of up to 5 years. Members are eligible for reappointment.

Applicants for the Ordinary Member positions should either have:

relevant legal qualifications and at least five years’ legal experience; or

extensive knowledge of, or experience with, any class of matter involved in the exercise of SAT’s jurisdiction.

SAT’s jurisdiction covers the following areas:

Commercial and Civil, including the areas of strata titles, retirement villages, commercial tenancies, building disputes;

Development and Resources, including the areas of local government, planning and taxation;

Human Rights, including the areas of equal opportunity, guardianship and administration; and

Vocational Regulation, including disciplinary action and licensing in relation to a range of regulated vocations.

It is also highly desirable that applicants have qualifications and experience in mediation.

Applicants for the Senior Member position should either have:

relevant legal qualifications and at least eight years’ legal experience; or extensive knowledge of, or experience with, any class of matter involved in the exercise of SAT’s jurisdiction.

SAT’s jurisdiction covers the following areas:

Commercial and Civil, including the areas of strata titles, retirement villages, commercial tenancies, building disputes;

Development and Resources, including the areas of local government, planning and taxation;

Human Rights, including the areas of equal opportunity, guardianship and administration; and
