Submitting Correspondence

Submitting any correspondence to the State Administrative Tribunal (the Tribunal) can be done via email, in person or fax.

If you’re submitting documents in person this must be done between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm

Lodging submissions

Submissions should be lodged at the Tribunal 3 days prior to the hearing unless directed otherwise via Tribunal Order.

Lodging submissions relating to a matter require the following:

  • the correct matter number
  • name of applicant and respondent or subject on the top of the submission.

If your submission is by email please ensure you state the matter number and name/s in the subject line.

For example:

  • Matter number – Name of applicant v Name of respondent; or
  • Matter number – Name of subject (this is relevant to guardianship and administration matters only)

This information will ensure your submission is lodged on the correct matter file.

Lodging urgent submissions

Lodging a submission in person, or electronically to the Tribunal less than 3 days prior to the listed hearing is considered urgent.

In this event, you will need to provide the following:

  • State the submission is “Urgent”
  • the correct matter number
  • Date of hearing
  • name of applicant and respondent or subject on the top of the submission.
  • If submission is by email, state these in the subject line.

 For example:

  • Urgent: Matter number, Hearing date [insert date] – Name of applicant v Name of respondent; or
  • Urgent: Matter number, Hearing date [insert date] – Name of subject (this is relevant to guardianship and administration matters only)

 You should also bring a hardcopy of the document/s with you to the hearing (if attending in person).

Requesting to Vacate a Hearing

If your submission is to tell us you’re seeking to vacate a hearing within 3 days of the hearing date, then you must also call the Tribunal on 9219 3111 as soon as possible.
