Incorporated Associations
SAT reviews decisions made under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 by the Commissioner within the Consumer Protection business area of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. These decisions include proposed order to cancel the incorporation of the association, proposed direction for an incorporated association to apply for registration or incorporation, and other reviewable decisions such as the refusal to incorporate an association or to approve a rule alteration.
SAT can determine disputes under or in relation to the rules of an incorporated association on an application by the association or member of the association if a dispute could not be resolved under the association’s dispute resolution procedures.
