GUARDIANSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION NEWS

03/07/2017

What are the changes? Users will no longer be able use the SAT eForm system to make guardianship and administration applications. All guardianship and administration applications will need to be made via the eCourts portal https://ecourts.justice.wa.gov.au/eCourtsPortal/.On the eCourts Portal users should click on the Guardianship and Administration link to get started.

Initially, the user will be taken through the pre application pathways. The pathways are designed to take the user through a series of questions which will determine if an application should be made. If the pre application pathways recommend an application be submitted, it will guide the user through the process of completing that application, saving it if necessary, and submitting it. Once the application is submitted it will be lodged immediately, and the applicant will receive a matter number.

First time users. Prior to completing an application, the user will be asked to log in. First time users will need to register by supplying an individual email address, and creating a password. Once registered, first time users can commence completing the application.

Registered users. Registered users should log in once they reach the eCourts Portal. Once logged in, users can click on the Guardianship and Administration link to make another application, or they can select the Manage My Applications link to review previous applications they have submitted, or to go back to an application they have saved but not yet submitted.

What are the advantages? The pathways may not always recommend an application to be submitted. A less restrictive alternative may be recommended to consider, in this case it will divert you to the most appropriate agency to assist, or provide further information. This will avoid users spending time, completing unnecessary applications. It will also provide the user with all the relevant information up front, prior to completing an application. In the event an application is recommended applicants can start the process immediately. No longer will they have to choose the legislation, or the specific section they’re applying under. The pathways will determine that for them, and increase their ability to complete the correct application. This also prevents applicants completing the wrong application, and being required to submit another.
