Decision on the Documents

Some applications, such as those relating to strata titles disputes for example, may be dealt with on the documents, without a hearing or a final hearing.

For example, with Commercial Tenancy matters, specifically section 13(7) applications, there is sufficient information in the application and the contract documents that are provided with the application for a SAT member to make a determination on the documents provided and issue an order.

In other matters, the application may have had a number of hearings and there is sufficient information and evidence for the member to consider the matter and make a final order. Where these final orders are made without a hearing they are referred to as a decision on the documents.
